Rib City is one of the more discreet yet long-time Ribs places in Maginhawa. Their main dishes have become quite famous for its sizes and reasonable prices. I wanted to try out for myself these specialties which have made them famous. Hence, when the magnificent Aldous Calubad invited me, I lost no time in agreeing to the date.
The dynamte sticks were an explosive starter to the meal. These were composed of deep fried chili peppers encased in crispy fried breading. Every bite was filled with a spicy and peppery flavor. I devoured a stick without a damn about the spiciness.
The Not Just Nachos was truly more than nachos. It had an overload of salsa, premium ground beef, olives, cheese sauce, tomatoes, and jalapeno. Our entire group had a hard time finishing it due to its sheer quantity. Tastewise, it was quite excellent.
After the overwhelming Nachos, we had their Ribs platter. It was able to serve all 8 of us with ease. It came with 4 sides. These were the mashed 'tato, cajun coleslaw, garlic mushroom, and the potato salad. The ribs were top notch. The meat was made out of pork and were easy to remove from the bones. The sweet barbecue sauce was also a plus.
They even served us thin fries and and pesto pasta to heighten our appreciation for the food.
I had their signature strawberry shortcake milkshake. It had a cake-y taste and a creamy top. The strawberry was also quite present in the shake.
We even got a huge serving of their Them Wings, their specialty chicken wings dish. Every bite was truly crisp. Mixing it with their hot gravy made me want more. I was able to devour 3 of those easily.
They have this new promo wherein Ribs, Tempura, Wings, and side dishes are eat-all-you-can for only Php 458.
The Queso de Bola Cheesecake had a strong cheesy smell. The strong cheesy taste was also present with every bite.
White Brownie a la Mode was something I preferred more. It had the right mix of ice cream and brownies for a delectable dessert experience.
