Last August 12, 2016, I was invited to the launch of Deuter Philippines' SM North Edsa Store through the auspices of Ms. Thea Conception, the corporate Marketing Manager of Deuter Philippines. I certainly obliged, knowing that Deuter bags are among the most durable in world.
As a world-famous and multi-awarded backpack manufacturer, Deuter has made backpack designs that are fitting for hiker and climbers for the past 118 years since it first started in Germany. The brand aims itself to become the perfect companion for passionate people who are into outdoor activities and sports. In order to do so, Deuter created the innovate Back System that maximize the use of technology to make loads lighter, safe, and more efficient for those enjoy rugged activities. Hence, these backpacks are designed to withstand the wear and tear of the elements. Furthermore, these backpacks are also top of the line when it comes to durability. The brand's guarantee is that their bags will last a really long time.
The Deuter concept store at The Block SM City North Edsa introduces the sterling brand to Filipinos who crave a taste of high quality outdoor gear. The shop was made to cater to bag purists and enthusiast who want the best money can offer for hiking bags and gear. Furthermore, the shop has staff who can assist a customer in finding a bag that fits their body type, style, and other preferences.
The launch was attended by attended by Mr. Chris Tang, President/CEO of Dynamic Sports Corporation, exclusive distributor of Deuter in the Philippines, Mrs. Beth Tang, President/CEO of Chris Sports, Ms. Susan Tiu, Vice-President of Chris Sports, Mr. Gilbert Tang, Managing Director of Chris Sports as well as various guests and media.
As part of the media present to witness the launch, we were encouraged to participate in testing out the various backpacks. We were also made to join an Amazing-race esque event where we went to different branches of Chris Sports inside SM North Edsa and took creative pictures with Deuter bags. The bags even had weights which made us feel the durability and ergonomic design of the equipment. Despite the heavy load, I found the bags to be comfortable and back-friendly. I certainly didn't expect that from a bag that weighed over 40 liters. Furthermore, the bag straps and the shoulder pads didn't give me bruises. That truly is comfortable. The 1 hour we spent exploring with the bags truly was fun even if tiring.
