Once again, Team Aldous invited me to another quiz night. This time, this was in the chic Borough Bar and Restaurant located in the ground floor of the Podium in Ortigas. More than 20 people joined this momentous event. Aldous was the one who made up the questions this time; and the topics were mostly in the realm of music and pop culture. One round, though was made by the owners of Borough; and these questions consisted of food trivia. I didn't mind that we lagged behind on the scoreboard. I was more into admiring the New York style lounge ambience of the place and the great food. Add to that the great company of Team Aldous as well.
I truly admired the food selections of this place. The owners of Borough served us some of their specialties:
This Mideastern specialty called Hummus is composed of pita bread with a chickpeas sauce drizzled in olive oil. It is priced at Php 130. The sauce can have a slightly bitter and oily taste.
The Haystack Onion Rings, priced at Php 180 pesos, reminded me of those crispy potato strings I used to love. This version, though has a tasty sour cream sauce that perfectly complements salty potatoes.

The warm interiors.
The Chocolate Chicken Wings, at Php 280, is a whiff of the exotic. This dish is a generous helping of chicken wings coated with dark chocolate. The melange of flavors maybe a bit strange to the first timer, but loving it is an acquired taste after the first bite.
The fries in the basket is reminiscent of New York style fries. At Php 150, this staple dish isn't too salty. It also complements the chicken wings perfectly.
The Buffalo Chicken Wings is the standard version. At Php 360, this plate of fried goodness comes with a tangy sour cream sauce and veggies. The skin and meat easily falls off the bones!
The hipster themed indoors looks pretty ambient.
The popcorn calamari is at Php 290 pesos. This snack is best served with cold beer. I like the fact that the calamari is fried well.
